Image Hopper Editor now comes with improved annotation tools, better iOS image compatibility, and new features to make your image editing faster and easier.
Our team has been hard at work over the past few weeks, and we’re thrilled to share our latest updates with you.
Image Hopper Core Updates
Mid May 2024 we released version 2.13.2 to resolve a few compatibility issues with HEIC image uploads and file renaming across various devices. A few weeks later the 2.13.3 update was published. It contains 10 bug fixes / tweaks to further improve the reliability and compatibility of Image Hopper.
In this update, we’ve also adjusted the <img /> mark-up generated by the plugin, so it includes the correct width and height attributes. This change helps minimize layout shift when a web page is first loaded. But don’t worry, we are still using CSS to ensure the image is responsive, and will scale as required.
Along with minor security improvements, a number of compatibility issues have been fixed when Image Hopper is combined with other plugins in the Gravity Forms ecosystem. This includes the WooCommerce Gravity Forms Product add-on, Gravity PDF Previewer, Gravity Wiz Entry Blocks, and the Gravity Wiz Page Transition perk.
Image Hopper Editor Updates
Better performance and compatibility is always a boon, but for our team, the exciting stuff landed in the 2.11.0 Image Hopper Editor update in early June. The Annotate editor feature got buffed in this release, and which now lets you choose the default markup tool and color when the editor is opened. This makes the process quicker and more convenient when images need to be regularly annotated a specific way.
Additionally, holding down the Shift key lets you select multiple shapes and then reposition all selected items together. You can also position any drawings added with the Sharpie tool. And it’s faster than ever to add text to images, thanks to the new tap-and-type Text tool feature.
You’ll find the new default markup settings organized neatly under the Appearance section when you select an Image Hopper field in the Form Editor. Just remember to enable one of the markup tools, or the settings won’t be available. The Default Editor View and Default Filter settings have also been moved to the Appearance section.
We hope you find these updates helpful and that they enhance your experience with Image Hopper. As always, we value your feedback and encourage you to reach out with any questions or suggestions.
